Goal Whiz

GoalWhiz is a healthy lifestyle program (HLP) which includes goal-setting, structured exercise, physical activity monitoring with feedback and social activities. With the GoalWhiz HLP, individuals could make and stick to lifestyle changes that could be beneficial for their health. There is no time limit on using GoalWhiz.

When you first sign-in you choose at least 3 goals and at least 1 action per goal. Once a week GoalWhiz will ask you about your progress on actions towards achieving your Goals. Once a month GoalWhiz will ask you about your overall progress. Also, once a month you can choose new Goals and actions, or continue for another month with your current settings. Linked resources are provided to help you with your actions (e.g. exercise videos).

GoalWhiz data collected are your goals, actions, weekly and monthly progress questionnaire reponses, and optionally your age and gender. No other personal identifying information is collected. The GoalWhiz app does not collect activity tracker data. Data is stored in a secure Firebase FireStore database. Your email address is used for account management and to index your collected data.

The collected data, without your email, can be optionally shared with the McGill University research team. Anonymization ensures no data can be associated back to you. You can decline sharing your data, and request your data be deleted anytime.
