Guía Multimedia Thyssen

The Multimedia Guide for the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum is the official audioguide
application for your visit. An essential tool for gaining a deeper understanding of the Museum’s
permanent collection and for visiting its various galleries before, during and after your time here.
Co-produced by the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and Audioguiarte, the application features
audioguides for 39 masterpieces, written by the Museum’s curators and educators.
Available in both Spanish and English, the Multimedia Guide includes:
-39 artworks with audioguide, as well as a complete fact sheet.
-Transcripts of the audioguide texts for those with special needs.
-Related videos which provide further detail related to composition, artistic techniques, etc.
-Pieces related to the permanent collection which allow for the establishment of relationships
and influences among the various artists represented here.
-Related musical works, which helps to place the artworks within a historical context.
-Secrets provided by the restoration section of the Museum, which allow for a glimpse of details
that have never been seen before now, like macrophotography, infrared photography, oblique
light, ultraviolet light, seals and much more.
-High-resolution photographs of all of the artworks for observing them in full detail.
A search for artworks can be carried out quite easily through the use of an interactive map of the
Museum, a browser, or by section: artworks, artists and galleries.
The Multimedia Guide provides access to five pieces free of charge:
- Portrait of Giovanna degli Albizzi Tornabuoni by Domenico Ghirlandaio
- Still Life with a Chinese Bowl, a Nautilus Cup and Other Objects by Willem Kalf
- The Thaw at Vétheuil by Claude Monet
- Fränzi in Front of Carved Chair by Ernst Ludwig Kirchner
- Patriotic Demonstration by Giacomo Balla
