HAMS Handwriting Calculator

The HAMS Handwriting Calculator is a component of the HAMS Handwriting Accuracy Monitoring System. HAMS is a comprehensive system to monitor and target handwriting remediation/instruction regardless of which writing program/style is used.

This calculator works together with all parts of the HAMS System. The fields used in the calculator match each component which makes data entry and logging of information simple.

The HAMS Handwriting Accuracy Calculator provides the HAMS Overall Accuracy Score, along with percentages for Capitalization, Punctuation, Spacing, Alignment, and Formation after the user enters ERROR and TOTAL numbers for each section.

The HAMS Calculator has popup screens for each section that contain the HAMS Rubric requirements for use as a quick reference.

The RATE SCREEN of the HAMS Calculator allows easy determination of handwriting speed. To obtain handwriting rate by letters per minute or actual words per minute rate simply press "START" as writing begins and press "STOP" when finished. There is also a convenient "PAUSE/RESUME" button to use if needed.

The RATE calculation can also be used for determining typing speed.
