For over 80 years, multitrack recording has relied on headphones to prevent audio bleed from the playback being re-captured in the microphone. Not anymore. Our patent-applied, AI-powered “headphone-free recording” technology eliminates this need, giving you freedom to record anytime, anywhere — no headphones required. Our AI-powered technology can record clean versions of any instrument, separate multiple layers of voice from other voice recordings, without ever plugging in a set of headphones. It's so fast, you won't even know it's happening!

How It Works

Using a unique real-time AI bleed removal algorithm, the app captures your performance and automatically cleans up any playback bleed from the mic input. Just press record, sing or play along with the backing track, and hear your clean take instantly — it’s as if the playback was never there. Want to dive deeper? Solo a track and use the Headphone-Free Audio Mixer to hear before/after comparisons, visualize the removed bleed, and truly understand the power of this new technology.

Latency Calibration

To function across all iPhones and iPads, the app performs a quick latency calibration on first launch. This ensures playback and microphone recordings are perfectly aligned — essential for accurate bleed removal. The calibration can be repeated anytime from the settings menu.

This technology is developed by the creators of Songzap, the popular mobile music production app. We’re preparing to fully integrate headphone-free recording into Songzap in 2025 — bringing you even more power and freedom in one intuitive package. This is just the beginning: the current AI is optimized predominantly for voice, but future versions will better support a wider range of instruments and devices. All training data was created in-house — no copyrighted protected music has been used!
