App Store Description
This application has been developed as a joint research project between the National University of Ireland Galway and Ulster University (United Kingdom). The project aims to educate a number of pre-selected participants who have Intellectual Disabilities about exercise and healthy nutrition.
The app includes the facility for a user to enter the types of food, and quantity that they ate that day. Food types are limited to 'Good', 'OK' and 'Bad' foods (coloured as green, yellow, red). Similarly, users can also enter their daily exercise across a range of 3 effort categories, Easy, Medium, and Hard.
In addition, a food image matching game is designed to educate the users which category (Good, OK, Bad) each food belongs to.
To encourage continual interaction with the app, the user is awarded with 'points' for logging their food, exercise and playing the food matching game.
