The MODEL 3 Water Heater by Heatworks will operate without downloading the Heatworks mobile app or paying an additional fee or subscription.
However, downloading our mobile app and connecting your unit to your home or business Wi-Fi network will turn-on some valuable features. Through over-the-air updates, rest assured that your MODEL 3 is always operating with the most recent version of software. In addition, you’ll be able to control the temperature of your water remotely.
Users who want more insight about their hot water can subscribe to our Eco-wise version for only $9.99 per year. Features include:

- Visualize water usage for the last 5 minutes, 24 hours, or 7 days
- Visualize energy usage for the last 5 minutes, 24 hours, or 7 days
- See total dissolved solids in the water
- Know how much your hot water actually cost for the last 5 minutes, 24 hours, or 7 days by entering local kWh and gallons rates
- Receive a monthly diagnostic report highlighting the health of 5 key systems within your MODEL 3 Water Heater, as well as the total energy and water consumption and approximate costs used to create hot water for the previous month.
- Considering that water heating is the second largest expense in homes (accounting for 14-18% of your utility bills)*, these insights should allow Eco-wise app users the ability to better understand their hot water usage so they can save money and our Earth’s valuable resources.
