What is it about?

The Heli Gauges App Patent No. US 10,780,995 B1 is for use in Helicopter External Sling Load Operations (HESLO). It is designed to be used with either the iPad Mini 5 or greater and iPhone 10 or greater. The App provides remote mounted engine gauges for the B407, AS350B2 (non-VEMD), AS350B3 (H125) and for a Slaved Indicator which is used to replace the Onboard Systems Remote Analog Gauge which cannot be used with the new C-40. For the Remote Gauge or FLI Repeater App, engine data is received via Bluetooth from either our ETM1000 or DCS1100 Data Acquisition Unit (DAU), respectively. For the Slaved Indicator, the App receives weight data from our SIB100 system via the Onboard C-39, C-40 or MXI load indicators. The iPad or iPhone is then mounted next to the external load window via approved mounts for the AS350 (Dart and MVPK windows) by locating the instruments in the same sight line as the external load. This helps to reduce pilot fatigue, exceedances, and improve overall safety.
