The HEVC app incorporates the libde265 HEVC/H.265 video codec. Sample HEVC/H.265 bitstreams can be streamed from the libde265 HEVC site at http://www.libde265.org/ or you can also view your own HEVC bitstreams files. The HEVC video player expects a URL to stream HEVC video from a web server. URLs with HEVC demonstration videos are provided. You can also add bitstreams via iTunes file sharing.
The libde265 HEVC codec enables streaming services to simultaneously deliver HD video content to at least twice as many users in comparison to preceding H.264 video content, or to cut the costs for streaming and network bandwidth by a minimum of 50%.
