hi, grandma app helps spark connection, sharing, learning, and fun across generations. All you need to do is set a reminder, receive your virtual activity and convo starters, call your grandma, and give a little back to other seniors in need.

Meaningful communication between generations can help all of us feel a little less alone, teach us important lessons, and is also pretty fun.

ABOUT US
Hi, we're Carley Lake and Chris Brauchli. We created hi, grandma because we believe in the awesomeness of intergenerational connection. It can lead to a special memory, lesson learned, or even a life change. A short call with Carley's grandma inspired Carley to find her grandma a late-in-life love.

“Before I moved to Amsterdam, I helped my grandma find her boyfriend. She's lived alone for 12 years, ever since my grandfather passed away. During one of our calls, she told me about her increasing loneliness. So during my holiday break, I gave myself one assignment—find my best friend (my grandma) a boyfriend. Soon I created my grandma's profile on a dating site and spent the next 2 weeks playing the role of matchmaker. I swiped right on a few people for my grandma and wrote the opening lines. The one man who wrote a nice note back was Vic. After the opener, I told my grandma she would take over the conversation. Soon she was messaging back and forth with Vic. She asked me what to do next and I recommended they set up a time to talk on the phone. The call felt effortless for my grandma and she enjoyed talking with Vic. A couple of days later they went on a date. The coffee date turned into a long lunch and lasted 3 hours. My grandma told me they had so much to talk about and had a great time. Fast forward to 2 months ago, I got to meet Vic for the first time in person. My grandma and Vic spend every day together and just celebrated their 4 month anniversary this May. I would have been so worried about my grandma being alone. But now that she has Vic I know she won’t be lonely anymore."- Carley
