The application is intended for guests of structures such as hotels, bed & breakfasts, houses and rented rooms for the management of self check in/out, access to rooms, parking areas and gates.
Users/guests who book receive access credentials, via email or directly at the reception via the credential request button in case of local booking. The login credentials correspond to the guest's generic surname and a randomly generated password. At the guest's checkout, the data relating to the guest is removed and stored only as the date and days of stay, while the password used for access is not archived.

The application is combined with specific hardware for the management of self check-in, access to rooms, guest detection in the room, activation/deactivation of the internal accommodation power supply, of the air conditioning system, management of access to the structure and parking areas. the functions of enabling the guest to the specific room take place through the identification of a bluetooth connection, i.e. short range, whose specific room identifier is automatically associated with the expected guest, so that he can independently access the assigned room without having to go to reception to obtain a card or other access devices. the Bluetooth pairing to the room is used for the sole purpose of verifying its proximity and presence inside the room to protect its privacy and rest by the service and cleaning staff as well as for the automatic management of the room power supply which is activated / automatically deactivated when approaching and moving away outside the coverage range of the Bluetooth inside the specific room. That is, the loss of connection will deactivate the internal power supply line, air conditioning and the blocking of the opening button on the application to avoid accidental opening of the room, while moving closer to the assigned room will reactivate the room power supply and the button for the chamber opening.

Use of permissions required by the application

Write/Read permission

It is used for local storage of valid access credentials to prevent them from having to be re-entered after the first access, given the frequent use of the application as a control tool during the period of stay in the structure. The data saved locally concerns only the generic surname, the password which is randomly assigned by the manager, the room module identifier, dates and times of validity and assigned room. However, the user of the application is given the right to refuse local saving and to manually re-enter the credentials at each use.

Bluetooth permission

It is requested and used according to the methods described above and only for proximity/presence verification. No data or commands pass through the Bluetooth connection, which are instead entrusted to the smartphone's data connection, thus allowing the management of services by multiple guests.
