The i-Help! app assists you in sending help request messages to friends or relatives or of course to emergency services, if they accept text messages.
It was specially developed to assist the community deaf and hard of hearing and persons deprived of speech to send emergency messages. In Belgium, they may apply to competent services (info available through associations) to obtain a secret number in order to be able to send text messages to emergency services (ambulance or fire brigade) and to the police.
The pre-encoding of useful information, the choice between user-friendly icons and the geolocation by GPS make it very easy for users to write a precise and structured message to emergency services, or to a trusted person.
The message elaborated in seconds is precise and clear and allows a rapid response without wasting any time. It complies to the ‘I need help message’ structure: where?, what?, who?
i-Help! was developed for the Auris Viva association. (www.aurisviva.be).
