A Paris love story

I Love Paris is a real love story – a grand romantic gesture by the world renowned, Michelin-starred chef Guy Martin to the city of Paris.

Now this passionate chef wants to share the love beyond his mythical Parisian restaurant, Le Grand Véfour, to reach travelers from around the world so that even if they only spend a layover in Paris, they can enjoy a special, unprecedented gourmet experience.

I Love Paris is nothing like the impersonal airport restaurants that are all too common. Backed by the expertise of Elior, which initiated this project, Guy Martin sought to create a one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience in this unexpected spot.

With I Love Paris, Elior and Guy Martin are staging a gourmet journey that offers reinterpretations of some of the classics of French cuisine, such as a divine "blanquette" and savory "pot-au-feu", along with now iconic creations like blue lobster carpaccio with wild mangoes. The restaurant will also feature a Ruinart champagne bar.

Guy Martin and Elior know that pleasing the eyes is as important as pleasing the palate, so they tapped India Mahdavi to design the setting for this culinary statement. Echoing the Palais Royal, which was the inspiration for I Love Paris, arcades surround a monumental oval bar decked out in black and white stripes and lit by two gold-hued round chandeliers. This ensemble opens up onto a majestic picture window overlooking the runways.

India Mahdavi has remained faithful to her warm, elegant style: here she combines the green hues of the velvet and leather armchairs with Paris stone on the floor to evoke the colors and materials of the Palais Royal.

Finally, Brigitte Mestrot developed the graphic design for the I Love Paris restaurant as a love letter. Her photographs call to mind Le Grand Véfour and the arcades and galleries of its home, the Palais-Royal.
