iEsquilino

The iPhone application iEsquilino is a multimedia guide that accompanies the user through itineraries that explore stories from an urban context between the Esquiline and the Viminal in Rome.

The features of iEsquilino, organized under the categories of History, Sites, Itineraries, Excavations and Multimedia (audio and video), can be accessed through a menu. The user can configure and re-configure in real time the modalities in which to access information.

All the information contained in the application are also available in audio form for a more dynamic visiting experience.

Chronological map:

allows access to sites descriptions on a temporal line.

Locations:
audio, text, and visuals (still images and video footages) describing the main archaeological sites of Esquiline and Viminal, access to the Maps for geo-referencing.

Itineraries:
four thematic itineraries through Esquiline and Viminal: the Infrastructures, the Cults and the Publics Buildings, the residential Buildings and the Necropolis.

Multimedia:
direct access to images and videos for a customizable visit.

Ongoing excavations:
updated news on ongoing excavations.


The application iEsquiline is the product of a cooperation between the Soprintendenza Speciale per il Colosseo e l’Area archeologica centrale di Roma and the Ugo Bordoni Foundation.
