The English Standard Version (ESV) was created by a group of scholars translating the Bible from the original texts in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.

The purpose of English Standard Version Bible is to bring modern Bible readers as close as possible to the original meaning of the Sacred Scriptures.

The work of the ESV will never be complete because English usage is always changing. The CBT (Committee of Bible Translation) is charged to meet every year to review and maintain the ESV.
