ILÚM Acumen

ILÚM Health Solutions, created by Merck Health Services and Solutions, is a specialized service focused on the unique challenges of infectious diseases with the goal of supporting improved patient health and outcomes. ILÚM Acumen is a health information application designed to support clinicians as they work to manage and prevent infections in the healthcare setting and manage quality programs such as those for infection control and antimicrobial stewardship.

Acumen helps clinicians stay connected and interact with the latest institution-specific clinical guidelines while also accounting for relevant patient-specific risk factors that impact treatment decisions. For infection control and prevention, Acumen provides users with secure access to electronic tools such as those for isolation precaution and hand hygiene compliance. Users can stay connected to the latest trends in local epidemiology through the antibiograms populated via integration with WHONET and available in Acumen.

The tools within Acumen can be populated automatically, via integration with existing data sources such as the electronic health record and laboratory information systems, or by manual data entry from clinicians and staff.
