IRIS SOS

SOS is an acronym signifying danger—an international distress signal and a universal call for help. This saying, which once referred to saving sinking ships, now ought to mean so much more. Students and seniors, two seemingly unalike groups, are both in need of a solution that ensures their safety on a day-to-day basis. 
The solution, consisting of a smartphone client and cloud server, allows students or seniors to instantly reach their preferred group (e.g. family) and organization (e.g. school’s or elder care facility’s emergency response team) with a voice command or single click. The solution is free for use by individual groups and families of five (5). It also integrates with the communication infrastructure using telephony as well as law enforcement. The user is simultaneously in touch with his or her family and the emergency response team. 
An organization can deploy the solution with following Features:
Activate multi way audio stream to emergency response team with voice command, single click on app screen or locked screen.
Create pre-written (canned) text messages to send to emergency response team.
Contact law enforcement and/or user’s family simultaneously when button is clicked.
Text message between emergency response team and user with fall back to SMS
Mute/unmute emergency response team’s audio on user’s device for safety
Emergency response team can utilize multiple streams to communicate with multiple teams, one at a time. 
Password protected cancellation for true safety
Add contacts to Family group through phone number or email for a free sign up
*User refers to the individual in a crisis situation that seeks help with the application (ie. student or senior), while emergency response team refers to those responding to the crises.
