Islamophobia

The purpose of this app is to enable individuals that have been subjected to Legal, social, religious, and political discrimination, or on the receiving end of an anti-Muslim racist incident or hate crime, to document the situation and create a comprehensive statistical picture of the lslamophobia phenomenon.

In a San Francisco Bay Area Muslim study, The Challenge of lslamophobia, participants in the survey identified islamophobia, as a major challenge [with] a full 60 percent of respondents said they knew someone who had been discriminated against; 40 percent said that they had experienced personal discrimination. About half reported knowing a victim of a hate crime, and 23 percent indicated that they had been victims of a hate crime.

A 2015 CAIR Report on bullying, documented that "55% of the American Muslim students surveyed reported being subjected to some form of bullying based on their religious identity.

The lslamophobia Reporting App is an academic-based initiative seeking to utilize collected data to enable policymakers, civic Leaders, as well as community members, to counter lslamophobia. We want to shed Light on the problem of underreporting cases of lslamophobia and provide accessible data r the general public and policymakers. Our aim is for the data to be far-reaching and comprehensive enough to cover anti-muslim discrimination and bolster the collective awareness of all Americans concerned with the rising tide of lslamophobia.
