Japanese Units of Measurement

This application allows you to convert traditional Japanese units that are still commonly used in Japan ( Tatami (Jo), Tsubo, Go, and Sho) to metric and to the US customary (standard) units.

Area
畳 (jo, tatami) to square meters and square foot
坪 (tsubo) to square meters and square foot

Volume (fluid)
合 (go) to milliliters and the US fluid ounce
升 (sho) to liters and the US galon

For Tatami you can choose between following types (sizes): Kyoma (京間), Chukyoma 中京間, Edoma (江戸間), Danchima (団地間) and minimum size of tatami (jo) that is defined by Japan’s Real Estate Fair Trade Council of Federation in the Fair Competition Code Concerning Labeling in Real Estate.
