Is the product you're holding genuine? By law all alcohol & tobacco products in Malaysia must be marked with an excise tax stamp provided by JKDM. These tax stamps have all a unique serial number with encrypted data and are linked to track & trace system holding information for each alcohol bottle and cigarette pack individually.

JKDM provides this free app to allow the public to verify excise tax stamps on alcohol bottles & cigarette packs. The app invites the consumer to validate the excise stamp security feature and on valid stamp, will provide access to some of the track & trace information specific to the product being scanned.

Reporting of incorrect data can be done and like everything else in the app this is done anonymously. If you submit relevant information to the authority you help them to combat illicit trade of taxable products in Malaysia.
