What is it about?

Mundane, yet inspired. My name is johnny. johnny berlin. I am old, very old. At least as old as the song that was composed especially for me: Johnny, when it’s your birthday (Johnny, wenn du Geburtstag hast...) And back then I had already been around a few years on the streets of this city. I saw them all coming and going. The kings and emperors, the reds, the browns, the Weimar Republic, the thousand-year Reich. The wall was built of stone and then later demolished. The Stones blared in the Waldbühne, the APO, the Stasi, the FRG, the GDR and the RAF. Biermann left. David Bowie lauded the Heroes in front of the Reichstag and pointed the loudspeakers at the fans to the east in front of the Brandenburg Gate. Udo Lindenberg performed in the Asbestos Palace and Winne Glatzeder played the Belmondo of the East. Prince jammed in the Palace of Tears and Rio Reiser died. All of that and much, much more was half way between Paris and Moscow.

Separated, torn, alone in the midst of Brandenburg sand—yet strong and unique, agonising, raw, rough but brought to tears.

I am Johnny Berlin. I play the music you miss for you, unfiltered, unpressed, scratchy, wailing. The rock ‘n’ roll, the pop, the sound from which everything came that came thereafter. Ten Years After and even much later. The Original – johnny berlin.

I am not only an Internet radio. I am johnny berlin - the look, the feeling. I want a conversation with you. Send me your music, your pictures, your films, your feelings. Let’s become a community. Our faith: Lust for Life!

And we will grow. Get ready – johnny berlin, Can’t Get Enough.
