JustPoint Universal Translator

JustPoint is an offline app allowing travelers to communicate with anyone, anywhere. Most travelers will find out the hard way that traditional translators are not enough. They work in some places but not others and a lot of meaning gets lost in translation, leading to undesirable situations.

Hence, we, a group of travelers, created JustPoint so you can be sure that your message will get across successfully when traveling to a foreign land. Through a simple and user-friendly UI, users can search for words and the app will display a hand-picked picture that conveys the meaning of the term searched. Then, users can show or point to the picture when communicating with a local in order to find directions, order food or have a friendly conversation.

JustPoint is better than traditional translators because:

A quick search for "scooter" will solve your problem. Looking for the check-in counter, need to convey how spicy you want your food or looking a synagogue nearby? We've got you covered.

Did you know that Google Translate provides the same translation for "vegetarian" and "vegan" when translating to Thai? Now imagine you are vegan and use Google Translate to convey that to a waiter. You could never be sure of what he understood, and end up with a dish not suitable for you.
