Kōkiri is an educational resource for Ministry of Justice staff and whānau to help them begin their journey to learn some important aspects of te reo Māori.
The app includes information on te reo Māori (the Māori language), tikanga (customs), mātāpono me ngā ūaratanga (principles and values), karakia (prayers/affirmation) and waiata (songs), to help staff understand more about our unique and shared cultural heritage.
Kōkiri will assist staff to build confidence, knowledge and capability to work effectively with Māori in their role.
One of the app’s key features is that it allows staff to input their own personal information to create a customised pepeha. Ministry of Justice staff will find this resource particularly helpful when leading, or being part of discussions that involve the Māori community.
