App Store Description

Karmate - helping our volunteer drivers to prove how great they are behind the wheel whilst supporting our community during this crisis.

Karmate monitors your driving and provides feedback to help you become a better and safer driver..

Karmate is an app designed to encourage drivers like you to be safer behind the wheel by tracking your journeys. Journeys will be tracked and scored providing you with feedback about your driving behaviour to help you become safer behind the wheel.

Once you have your location turned on, Karmate will automatically track your journeys and score them according to five key areas of driving behaviour - speed, smooth driving, mobile use, time of day and fatigue - once a journey is complete.

So how do Karmate’s scores work?

Smooth driving: measures your anticipation of events by analysing the smoothness of your acceleration, braking and cornering
Mobile use: measures your mobile phone usage behind the wheel by tracking anything from texting to phone calls and app usage once a journey is in progress

Fatigue: measures the length of your journey. Drivers should take a rest after driving continuously for 2 hours that’s when concentration can start to wain

Speed: measures the safety of the speed your car is travelling at, relative to other road users

Time of day: this considers the time of day or night of your journey. Driving during the night is around 10 times riskier than driving in the daytime

You will be able to view your journey data, including feedback on your driving style, once it has been processed and scored. This will allow you to understand the areas where you can make improvements to your driving in order to become safer and smarter behind the wheel.
