Dating apps blew up in 2012 with the introduction of swipe-based dating. Over two decades later, instead of getting better, they’ve only gotten more expensive. Our mission is to make dating apps the joy that they should be. Finding love should be a chapter of your life filled with incredible memories and good times.

So, how do we deliver on our mission?

First, we’ve embraced the fact that we are a video-based world. Pictures are great for showing off interest, but videos show us as we are. We started by requiring your video to be taken within the app and used pose detection to ensure your entire body is in frame. We also share how long ago your video was taken. When the goal is to meet in real life, your profile should represent you in real life.

Next, we realized the pitfalls of texting. Texts are great for quick communication, but they’re an awful way to get to know someone. We’ve built our chat exclusively around voice clips so they’re fast and easy to send. Hearing someone’s voice makes the connection more instant, or allows you to move on quicker. Continuing to hear their voice makes the connection build faster and leads to dates sooner.

Lastly, a simple, beautiful, and intuitive app design. We didn’t send our dream out to another company to be built for us. We’re a team of builders and designers who knew that a small screen meant that immersion and real-world mimicry could only be achieved by doing away with boxes and borders, and turning your phone into an edge-to-edge window into your first date.
