App Store Description

Here is latest release of the e-topo ''Les Carnets d’escalade’’.

Les Carnets d’escalade are more than a hundred climbing sites in the canton of Valais and the canton of Vaud listed, geolocated, described and documented using photos and videos. It is part of a true showcase of the region's natural, tourist, sporting and cultural heritage.

This tool, the paper guides and the general and growing enthusiasm for this wonderful activity have led to an increase in attendance at many climbing sites. This is a very good thing but also calls for changes in practice.

* ‘’Les Carnets d’escalade’’ are transformed for more respect *

The increased frequency of sites requires respectful behavior from each and every one of us.

For a good relationship with the environment, new sections proposed for each sensitive site of points of attention: nesting birds, appropriate parking places, public transport stops, a reminder of the general rules of living on cliffs.

* Recycle, Re-bolt *

The rock is a resource apart from others, it is not infinite. The very names are on the same equipment for the past and the beauty is just begging to be refreshed. Les Carnets d’escalade and author have an approach to “recycling” the merchandise.

Rather than drilling holes in virgin rock, why not tackle the task of repping already equipped areas, which have brought joy to generations of climbers before falling into oblivion due to aging equipment? This will delight today's climbers, while preserving the environment and promoting the work of the elders. A great example of a sustainable approach!
