LLOCS

LLOCS (PLACES in Catalan) is a geolocation and travel app that allows you to access Apple's map services on your iPhone in an integrated way to your own database of places saved locally on the device. Data, in addition to the coordinates and the address, may include other information such as multiple links to websites related to the landmark, telephone numbers and comments. Llocs can therefore become a valuable tool when preparing a trip, obtaining information while on the road and also as a tool to share easily with others information about places visited. In addition, the app includes a digital compass which, using the camera, allows you to point you towards the direction to follow to reach a given spot.

Places are organized in folders which can be identified by colors for a quick access. You can search a landmark by multiple criteria. All places must belong to at least one folder, but they can belong to as many others as you wish. For example, a restaurant in the BARCELONA folder can be assigned to folders RESTAURANTS and CATALONIA simultaneously. Places can be moved from one folder to another individually or in batch. Folders can be archived so that, at any time, lists of places which show up at different sections through the app get reduced for quicker access.

From a place view you can access the turn-by-turn navigation services of both Apple and Google (provided that the Google Maps app is already installed) according to the chosen preference. Therefore with just a single click you get directions instructions to go from the user's location to the location's record or from any location in the database to another. The Waze navigation app is also integrated (if this has been installed on the device) so that, for example, when you are on the road, you can start navigation to the destination of any record stored in the data base with a single click which can be very useful when you need to launch the app in CarPlay.

Places can be added by different types of input: By coordinates, by address, by current location and even by a single tap on the map when we are viewing the position of one of the stored places in the app.

From Llocs you can consult Apple's database of places of interest by any name or by a list of pre-saved criteria (Museums, Restaurants, Gas Stations, etc.) and these landmarks can be added to the local database of Llocs in batch.

Data in Llocs is private to the user. Data is always stored on the phone. The user can make backup copies of data both locally and in their private iCloud space, which can allow data from a device to be duplicated on several devices.
