Antle Discovers His Voice is an early years literacy assessment tool developed by the Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey of Nova Scotia and Sprig Learning. The educational assessment application includes an engaging and interactive assessment for students as well as a series of surveys for teachers, caregivers and Elders/community leaders. Together, these different perspectives provide a more comprehensive and holistic understanding of the oral language learning opportunities for each student.

Antle Discovers His Voice is an early years literacy assessment tool developed by the Mi’kmaw Kina’matnewey of Nova Scotia and Sprig Learning. The educational assessment application includes an engaging and interactive assessment for students as well as a series of surveys for teachers, caregivers and Elders/community leaders. Together, these different perspectives provide a more comprehensive and holistic understanding of the oral language learning opportunities for each student.
The interactive child assessment app is delivered by by a puppet, Antle the Moose, who teaches students about the traditions and cultures of the Mi’kmaq people. The assessment app provides an understanding of the values, access, participation and knowledge of oral language literacy in both English and the Mi'kmaw language. The application is account-driven and available only to individuals that are part of the Oral Language Learning Program.
