The Borza family, originally from the beautiful Italian province of Frosinone, has roots in Ireland that date back to the nineteenth century, and a long history in the food industry.
Today, the family is proud to have a presence in both the green island of Ireland and its ancestral hometowns of Montattico & Casalvieri in Italy. Back in the 1900 century Benedetto Marsella, great grandparent of Mario Borza was involved selling fresh gelato in O'Connell Street, Dublin. The tradition continues. Mario & Luigi is delighted to continue to bring memorable culinary experiences to the Irish people.
Drawing on this breadth of experience, Mario Borza and his son-in-law, Luigi Lacobelli have come together to create Mario and Luigi’s Gelato, Ireland’s most exciting gelateria.
