What is it about?

The Maverick Course Learning Assistant for Student Success (MavCLASS) app is a personal learning assistant designed to empower MSU students by motivating proactive, self-regulated learning behaviors that have been shown to correlate with positive learning outcomes (Schunk, 2005; Wolters and Hoops, 2015). By providing study, planning and action prompts and help support (such as organizing notes, conducting research, drafting outlines, etc.) well in advance of assignment due dates, the app seeks to scaffold the process of building a more active, engaged framework of self-regulated learning behaviors that will lead to improved efficacy, lower anxiety, higher attainment of content mastery, better performance on assignments and assessments, and lifelong learning skills among MSU learners.
