There are so many old wives tales about eating a hot curry, having sex or going for long walks to bring on labour – but the baby will make its appearance when it wants to. So don’t get upset if you go past your due date, wondering if it will ever come out! 

The last few weeks may feel tough because you’re just waiting for it to happen. But it’s important not to get stressed or overtired. 

Remember, these are the last few days you’ll ever spend alone with your man, just the two of you. So enjoy that time and make the most of it.

It’s important you eat naturally and healthy now. Make sure you choose foods with Omega 3 to help baby’s brain development. 

Two weeks before your due date it would be a good idea to eat carbohydrates as you’re going to need a lot of energy. If you wish to heal quickly afterwards and breast feed, choose foods with vitamin C, zinc and vitamin D.

To prepare yourself not only physically, it’s important to prepare yourself mentally for the birth of your baby. You and your man should talk to the baby and play your favorite relaxing music. It will increase bonding.


Massage will help you relax, reflexology and acupuncture is great too for releasing happy endorphins.
