App Store Description

Our aim is to place your pain treatment, responses and records under your control so that you can be fully integrated into the process.

You can start using this service purely on your own, if you wish. You can start recording how pain is affecting you over time; record and report pain flares; and set up regular survey records for your own or your doctor’s use.
Or you can invite your specialist to join your app programme by giving him or her your permission to access your records. That way, the clinical team can set schedules for recording your progress with pain flares and respond to them more efficiently, changing your medication or other treatments as necessary.

Your fully encrypted records belong to you and not the NHS, so they are fully shareable by you with whichever clinical facility you wish. The days of personal ownership of data are already here. This service joins your medical records in with that same personal ownership.
We shall be releasing upgrades regularly, so expect this to be an evolving service based on the feedback of specialists and pain sufferers.
Using the app:
When you open the app, you will be able to register and set up a secure, encrypted account. You will control all of the data that you then store and you will own that data.
You will find helpful lists of musculoskeletal (MSK) and rheumatological pain conditions or diagnoses from which you can choose the one that described yours. Once you have identified your condition, you will find clinical recording surveys that you can use to show how your pain symptoms are changing over time and be in a position to see which forms of treatment are helping and which are not.
You will be able to set up a schedule for yourself to record and show graphs of your progress. If you wish to, you can then invite your doctors and specialists to share your data and join you in managing your schedules and your treatment in line with what you are experiencing outside of the clinic environment. This will give your doctors much more rapid access to your progress and make changes to medication accordingly.
When you share your account with a doctor or nurse, you will be able to send them a flare report, which they will see on their clinic dashboard and contact you speedily to give you advice. This flare function is a unique feature of the app and doctors working in the NHS are using it with great effect to deliver rapid, targeted relief to MSK pain sufferers.
The medmet pain app is now the subject of an international congress on MSK in Madrid, where the doctors involved in its development are demonstrating its value to colleagues and sufferers worldwide.
