The Merkato onboarding process is quick and easy, enabling you to start selling as soon as possible!

You will first need to sign-up your business and then go through a process of identification.

Sign-up:
1. Sign up for a Merkato account
2. The account will be verified after you go through a brief self-identification chat

Identification:

The identification process takes just a few minutes. Make sure you’re in a quiet place with no disturbances and have a valid identity document with you.

1. An email will be sent to the email address you provided when creating your Merkato account.

2. Open the email and click on the link. This will confirm your registration with Merkato.

3. Download the Merkato mobile app and begin the online identification process on your phone. You will be guided through the identification steps.

4. The Merkato team will review the identity document provided and confirm your identity verification within 72 business hours.

The Merkato seller app also lets you authenticate logins and approve selected operations via PIN or biometric data.

Once the identity verification process is complete, you will need to provide legal documents to verify your business’ identity. These documents are dependent on your company’s legal form.
