MSU Mobility Research

MSU Mobility is an initiative to improve campus safety, transit and resource utilization. This app allows you to help shape the future of the MSU campus experience by providing valuable insight into campus mobility, through your daily use of resources on campus.

MSU Mobility collects privatized location data O N L Y while you are on campus. Your data is in no way linked to your device or your identity. Your explicit permission will be requested for any data that we collect and all collected data will be made available to you. This donated data is accumulated from our side over the course of the day in a privatized and power efficient manner. The data collected is intended to help research projects and other campus initiatives that will enhance the on-campus experience particularly in areas of safety, utility and accessibility. Despite being restricted to the Michigan State University campus, findings can help design safer, more convenient spaces for all people to navigate and live.

Tokens are awarded for each day of data donated. Each token increases the chances of winning a prize in a random drawing at the end of this event. In addition, crossing certain milestones in tokens, earns you a virtual achievement token, that will remain permanently in-app after the event is closed.
