App Store Description

Valter Defends Sarajevo is the first film museum in this part of Europe, dedicated to the action film of the same name, directed by Hajrudin Šiba Krvavac. It is located in the Film Center in downtown Sarajevo in the vicinity of Markale Market.

Film Valter defends Sarajevo (1972), tells the story of Vladimir Perić Valter, leader of Sarajevo’s resistance movement against the occupying Nazi forces during the World War II.
Valter was killed just a few hours before the final liberation of the city defending the city’s main power plant.

Valter defends Sarajevo was one of the most popular films produced in the former Socialist Yugoslavia featuring legendary film stars from former Yugoslavia, such as: Velimir Živojinović a.k.a. Bata, Ljubiša Samardžić, Rade Marković, Dragomir Bojanić a.k.a. Gidra, Relja Bašić, and others.

It is a cult film from the 70s and one of the symbols of Sarajevo.

Museum offers an appealing mix of wax figures, film scenes reconstructions, video and audio multimedia, with rich documentation of this cult film and the historical background on which the film is based.
