App Store Description

My Languages is a free app for the little girls and boys who follow Historias de Emma series of children's stories, to learn-while-playing words of that other language their family and friends speak.

The app has been designed by Emma, 6 years old. The families of her school friends come from many different countries around the world. And, in the family environment, they speak a language different from that of the country where the little girls and boys live and study. Emma drew sketches to show me what the app she had envisioned should look like. And she told me to code the app for iPad.

Although the app is very simple and intuitive, it includes instructions for parents to guide their little ones so that they can enjoy the app on the iPad. And there are also "Voice" buttons that, when touched, will make the iPad read what the screen shows.

The app takes English or Spanish as the reference language, depending on which of them your iPad is working on.

LET’S START
— The first step is to touch the Play button.
— You have to choose the language you want to play with, among the six that the app now offers. They are the most common languages among Emma's friends.
— The iPad will display a word in that language, accompanied by a drawing related to it. And it will read aloud that word in that language and four possible English translations.
— If you want the iPad to read it again, just tap the speaker on the screen.
— You have to guess how that word is said in English, touching the translated word you think is correct, among the four possible options.

POINTS AND MEDALS
— If your choice is correct, you will get one more point. And you will be able to improve your record of words of that language guessed in a game.
— In addition, you can get up to three medals if you correctly translate 5, 10 or 20 words in a game.
— And if you're wrong, the iPad will tell you the correct translation. And you will return to the login screen so you can start again.

CHALLENGE COMPLETED
— If you correctly translate 25 words of a language in the same game, Emma will congratulate you on a special screen.
— And you can start over. Because the app has much more than 25 words, so you can keep playing and learning more and more words in that language and also in other languages.
— Ah! And if you want the word to be translated to appear without a drawing, go to the Rules screen and use the “Remove the drawing” switch.

Come on!… Starts now to learn-while-playing the most common words in various languages of the world.
