Designed and created by the young people of Waterford Comhairle na nÓg, our aim is to engage young people in making small differences in their environment, which when put together, will make huge differences in Waterford City and County.
What you have to do is log in to the App, and carry out the simple tasks that improve your environment, which will make your personal tree grow. You’ll get a different task simply by refreshing your list, and you’ll be asked to mark off when that task is completed. When you finish all the existing tasks you can request for the new list.
After completing 4 tasks, you’ll grow a small tree, after 7, you’ll be at medium, and after 10, you’ll have a large tree grown from your efforts – well done!
At that stage, you’ll also have a tree planted on your behalf by the young people of Comhairle, at the new Native Irish Tree Trail at the WIT Arena grounds on the outskirts of Waterford City.
You’ll have improved your own environment and you’ll also be adding to the health, wellbeing and biodiversity of your beautiful County.
Scroll through the buttons and you’ll get lots of local and international news about the environment, and you’ll see what’s going on and where you can help out on all matters to do with the environment. You’ll also be able to see what the young people of Waterford Comhairle are getting up to, making a real difference in their communities.
