Helen Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) was an English author, illustrator, natural scientist and conservationist best known for her imaginative children’s books. Childhood pets and her love for animals greatly influenced the characters of her stories. Inspiration also came from her family trips to Scotland and the English countryside.
