What is it about?

This AR application is part of a research project for revitalizing deserted alleys using Augmented Reality (AR) technology for tourism excels. Rukun Negara or Nation's Pillars is selected as the street art project's main content to complete and support the research. Malaysia aspired to achieve unity within society, maintaining a democratic way of life by shaping community to achieve prosperity that can be enjoyed together fairly and equitably, guaranteeing a liberal way of life towards its rich cultural traditions and various patterns as well as building a progressive society that will use modern science and technology in the network of life through Rukun Negara. The use of AR technology could help convey such a message and enhance the creative placemaking method by encouraging social interaction. The model developed from this research can be implemented by the local authorities and encourages more collaboration between local government, private and public organizations, local artists, and the community to revitalize deserted or urban spaces.
