What is it about?

The NG4P App is a Citizen Science project promoted by the Botanical Garden “Selva di Gallignano” and the Marche Polytechnic University to learn about observing pollinator insects and wildflowers in the central Marche region. It is a part of the NextGen4Pollinators (NG4P) project, developed with the support of the Cariverona Foundation within the Format 2022 project, aimed at raising awareness among young generations and citizens on the importance of pollinators and how they can be protected and preserved for the future, also through the protection of their natural habitats. Pollinator populations, essentials for biodiversity and our own existence, have been declining for decades due to several factors including habitat loss through fragmentation, pesticide use, spread of exotic species and climate change. With the NG4P App, you can learn to observe pollinators and the most common plant species spread in the central Marche region, upload photos, and videos of your observations, and receive feedback on correct identification.
