The App is part of the ALAMA nightlife study, set up by the European Research Area Network on Illicit Drugs (ERANID). This part of the ALAMA nightlife study, the ALAMA EMA study, was funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the United Kingdom Department of Health.

Trimbos institute, the Netherlands Institute for Mental Health and Addiction and University College London (UCL) have built an App to study young adults that frequently go out in de electronic dance scene. The App is part of the ALAMA nightlife study, set up by the European Research Area Network on Illicit Drugs (ERANID). This part of the ALAMA nightlife study, the ALAMA EMA study, was funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport and the United Kingdom Department of Health.
The App prompts users with three types of surveys. 1) Daily prompts with questions concerning mood, sleep, daily functioning, concentration, and alcohol and drug use. 2) Weekend questions about mood, social and physical environment, and alcohol and drug use. 3) and finally day-after questions about possible negative consequences of alcohol and drug use.
