Northern Sun Winery

The pride of Northern Sun Winery is our Estate grown wines. Carefully selected varietals to thrive on our rolling hills in Bark River, Mi. We are located less than 15 minutes from the beautiful Historic Town of Escanaba and less than 5 minutes from the Island Resort and Casino in Harris. All of our wines are grown, produced, and bottled on site.
Our wines are 100% Estate grown in our own Anthony Vineyards. You will be amazed by our local flavors and delicious wines, as many as 13 at any one time. Because of our boutique style winery and all grapes grown on site, we may not always have all of our varietals available.
Northern Sun Winery is an Estate Grown winery, which means that all of our grapes are grown on site in Bark River, Michigan. We are truly a locally grown product. This approach is typical of old traditional ways of growing wine, as is demonstrated in the labeling systems of Europe where the growing region is identified. This gives the consumer proof of a local product. We at Northern Sun Winery are committed to making great wines that stand up to international competition, yet are made with real local products. We grow all of our grapes on site. While many in the industry import grapes, juice, or even bottled wines and put their label on them, we honor the old process of growing our grapes at our location. That “old” process is again new with consumer demand for locally grown products. We are craftsmen and craftswomen. We do not rely on industrial processes. Our grapes are hand picked, undergo no temperature treatments, and are hand bottled. We are a neighborhood operation relying on volunteers to help us pick grapes and bottle the wine. It is a labor of love, and a highly rewarding lifestyle. We take great pride in our wines. We hope you find them worthy.
