What is it about?

The KIT is an electronic resource for NOSM pediatric residents, off-service residents and clinical clerks, as well as those visiting us from other medical schools. Within it you will find orientation information for each of our four main teaching sites (North Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Sudbury, and Thunder Bay), which you should review in detail prior to your rotation. You will also find your rotation learning objectives. Additional personal objectives should be reviewed with your preceptor at the start of your rotation. Perhaps most importantly there is a library of clinical resources covering various areas of pediatrics. The KIT does not replace your pediatric textbooks, but it does contain information you may wish to have at your fingertips at a moment’s notice, such as nomograms, code algorithms, and summaries of CPS statements. In fact students and residents determine the content. You will be able to use this information at any of the Northern hospitals and pediatric practices.
