Notary

This app provides a notary service that lets you prove that an action, event or idea occurred before or at a given date and time.

You record the action, event or idea as a photo or text document on your iPhone and then use our app to "notarize" the document. To do this our app will create a digest of your document and send that to our servers. This digest is then recorded along with its date and time. Your file is never disclosed to us and we have no way of reconstructing it from the digest.

You then keep your document, and if you ever need to prove the time and date of the action, event or idea recorded by your document, you can pass on a copy of it to another person and they can "authenticate" the date and time it was notarized using either this app or on our website at notenda.com.

Authentication re-creates the digest from the document and then sends the digest to our servers. If there's a matching entry from when the document was notarized, it is authenticated, and the date and time of notarization is returned.
