But you don’t need to wait and worry. Ob Telecare connects pregnant and postpartum women to experienced OB/GYNs via video chat 24-hours a day, seven days a week, even if it’s 3 a.m. or the middle of a holiday weekend.
Our doctors specialize in diagnosing and treating pregnancy-related complications. If you’re in pain, spotting, or have another urgent medical issue, we’re here to help. Here are some examples of common issues:
- You think you’re getting a urinary tract or yeast infection
- You have a cold or fever and need to know which medications are safe to take
- Your hands and feet are swollen and uncomfortable
- You feel a tugging on your c-section scar
- You fell down and want to make sure your baby is okay
- You’re concerned that your blood pressure is high after giving birth
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Simply open the app and enter your personal information. Be sure to have your photo ID handy. Once you’ve answered a couple of questions about your condition the doctor will begin the visit. Translation services are available for Spanish, Chinese and most other languages.
Within minutes, one of our expert physicians can explain what’s happening, calm your fears and tell you what to do next. Get the right care at the right time, and prevent an unnecessary trip to the office or hospital.
CAN THIS REPLACE MY PRENATAL VISITS?
Ob TeleCare is for urgent medical issues only, not for routine prenatal care or prescription refills. After your Ob TeleCare visit you’ll receive an email with information you should give your regular OB/GYN.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
Ob TeleCare will bill your insurance directly – so your regular co-pay may apply. You can also choose to pay for the visit out of pocket. Credit cards are accepted.
WHAT IF I NEED A PRESCRIPTION?
Our OB/GYNs are able to prescribe many medications via the telehealth platform. Before your visit we’ll ask for your preferred pharmacy information. If a prescription is needed the doctor will automatically send it to that pharmacy.
WHEN SHOULD I NOT USE OB TELECARE?
You should NOT use Ob TeleCare if you’re experiencing no fetal movement, heavy vaginal bleeding, chest pains or shortness of breath. Please go to your hospital emergency room immediately or call 911.
