OmniAge aims to be the first app in the world created to promote active aging by monitoring the risk of falling. This is the first version based on a simple exercise, namely "squats", where the elderly has to perform bendings on the knees. The elderly can comfortably perform the test at home without going to specialized clinical centers.
OmniAge is a system consisting of an app and a proprietary algorithm. Using your smartphone for a few minutes per month, OmniAge allows you to quantify your risk of falling, thus promoting active aging.
The proprietary algorithm is a Machine Learning application that uses the inertial sensors present in all smartphones and is based on the movements of the squat exercise and data of the elderly.
How it works: after registering and entering a few personal information, the user (the elderly) can consult the guide for the correct execution of the squats. He/she can then carry out the first test and the system immediately returns the risk factor for the fall. In addition, a traffic light has been inserted to facilitate the reading of the result.
The test lasts 30 seconds and the goal is to perform the greatest number of squats.
Furthermore, in the OmniAge app, it is possible to enter the dates of falls in order to keep track of events.
Then, specialised doctors can use this information to make their best decisions and improve their choices.
Moreover, elderly users can add the email of their personal care givers, so that they can receive update of test results.
At the end of each exercise, it is welcome to receive feedbacks on the experience since the app is completely innovative and our goal is to improve every day thanks to the contributions of the users.
