One Water

The One App is a free app that enables you to take part in the One Water World Water Day Challenge.

Stela, a young girl who lives in Turkana, Kenya, used to walk up to 4 hours a day to collect water, which was often contaminated. Thanks to sales of One Water (a UK brand of bottled spring which donates 100% of its profit to fund water projects), Stela’s community now has access to safe, clean water.

Other communities aren’t so fortunate. So to mark World Water Day, we’re challenging you to follow in Stela’s footsteps and walk for water.
We want you to join together to “virtually” walk around the world. That’s about 65m steps.

If everyone does their bit, we’ll total up the steps and we should reach the target in no time.

The app is free to download, but as an additional incentive to take part, we are committing to fund a water pump in a neighbouring community to Stela’s when the target is reached. Find out more at onedifference.org/wwd

The One App allows you to:

- Count your total steps with the built in pedometer
- Track the amount of time you’ve been walking and the total distance you’ve walked
- Upload your steps to the world challenge total
- Share your achievements to Facebook and Twitter

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
