It has one data repository that stores overdose incident data for all participating countries and offers a comprehensive reporting system allowing users to create custom queries by substances, provider, location, demographic, intervention type and outcome data. It is intended to serve as an epidemiological indicator to provide incidence and prevalence data on opioid overdose data on city, county, state and national levels.

The Overdose Warning Network was developed for First Responders including law enforcement, Hospital, Fire and EMS personnel and other individuals administering Naloxone in an opioid overdose event. The APP is available for Android and iPhone.
