Parcelpik platform brings together people (customers) who want ondemand delivery service and couriers (agents). All customers have to do is download the app and create an account. Once the account is created, customers can start using the service by entering delivery request through the app. The customer must enter physical addresses for both pickup and drop off locations. The customer also has the ability to enter the description of the item in a free text field. The customer can also enter their name, contact number and email as well as those for the consignee. The app calculates the delivery charge for the customer to see before they submit their request. If the customer is happy with the charge, they can pay for the delivery through the secure payment gateway in the app. Customers can pay by either credit card or debit card. Once payment has been accepted, the customer can submit their request. Parcelpik assigns the delivery request to one of its agents who is available at that time.
When the agent accepts the delivery request, the customer gets a notification with the estimated time of arrival of the agent. The customer can also track the agent on their way to the pickup location. After the parcel has been picked up, the customer can also track the agent on his way to the drop off location. The customer can also see the status of their delivery and can contact the agent at any time. When the agent arrives at the drop off location, the consignee can sign on the agent’s phone to acknowledge that they have received the parcel. The agent marks the delivery task as completed. At that time, the customer gets a notification confirming that their delivery has been completed and the customer is requested to rate the agent. The customer also has an option to give a tip to the agent after the completion of the service if they wish.""
