NORTHERN SOULS, Pencil United’s first series, is an atmospheric, enigmatic and magical drama that follows the journey of a young man in finding his origin in Europe’s last wilderness, Swedish Lapland, at the same time as the Second World War reaches northern Scandinavia. Intrusive voices inside the man’s head, possible signs of schizophrenia, call him "Mielat" and insist that he has a calling. In addition to the adventure's dramatic action, the story also holds existential, ethical and political dilemmas and is aimed at a broad adult audience.
