Augmented Reality (AR) means "extended reality" and differs from Virtual Reality (VR), in a way that no special VR glasses are needed to view multidimensional objects. A mobile device (tablet or smartphone) is sufficient to experience AR content. AR links digital information with physical reality. The user of AR can place an object as a 3D hologram in his environment via his mobile device, view it from all sides and interactively make changes to the object.
